Subject: Student models needed for figure drawing/painting classes, Department of Art
To: <knh@miamioh.edu>

Hello,

This is Joomi Chung, a faculty from the Department of Art. We are looking for student models for figure drawing and painting classes. Could you please share the link below (Miami U student job posting link) to your students?

https://jobs.miamioh.edu/cw/en-us/job/495631/student-assistant-model

The official job description says that the models need to be nude. But nude or clothed options are flexible. We have several drawing and painting courses per semester where we need models for short poses (1-5min) to long multi-session poses (with intervals between 15-20min of posing time). When a student submits an online application, it takes several days or weeks of processing time. Once the student is hired through the university, instructors will be in direct contact with the student model to schedule for the model sessions.

Students can gain more information from the job link above or contact me at chungj@miamioh.edu.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Joomi

Subject: Career Openings at Cincinnati Sports Club
Date: November 27, 2018 at 10:06:20 AM EST

In 2018, we added two significant projects that could impact your current and past students.

The first was the expansion of our Personal Training Internship Program.  Not only are our internships paid, but we have increased the "hands on" emphasis while working around students flexible schedules.

Secondly, we expanded our new trainer onboarding best practices with an even greater commitment to build new trainers books to become full time as quickly as possible.  Both projects have gone extremely well and have seen amazing results including making 2018 our Best Personal Training Year in History.

I am currently looking to hire both full time trainers AND interns.  We are always looking for talented young trainers and have a proven career path for them to follow.  Developing quality college graduates has been a very successful pathway for our program.

Here are a few facts about our personal trainers:

  • One of the few private training facilities in the country that has a physical therapist on staff who performs screenings, therapy and personal training
  • CSC trainers are eligible for a full benefits package including health insurance, vacation, 401K match, sick pay and continuing education.
  • All eighteen of the private trainers have college degrees and possess an industry accredited certification.
  • Our average trainer has over 6 years of training experience with over 125 hours of continuing education credits.
  • We are one of the few private training facilities in Greater Cincinnati that has an Athletic Trainer on staff.
  • Our trainers have developed a professional relationship with The Christ Hospital Physical Therapy Center and other local doctors to have a seamless continuum of care for our members.

Labor Category: General Clerk III job opportunity Labor Category: General Clerk III job opportunity

Hello!  I am emailing about a potential co-op/job opportunity that may be of interest to your public health students.  I work for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which is part of the CDC.  I am currently working on the Occupational Health Safety Network (OHSN) project, which is designed to help health care facilities track and prevent traumatic injury incidents and injury risks among their personnel.

We are looking to hire 2 part time (or potentially 1 full time, 1 part time) contractors to help out on the OHSN project over the next year.  The work would be a combination of assisting with mapping/coding OHSN data that we receive and also helping with recruitment and membership administration efforts by doing outreach to hospitals as well as some other information management responsibilities (i.e. meeting minutes, etc.).  A person with some familiarity with health informatics, public health, or nursing would be ideal especially for dealing with hospitals and understanding the clinical terminology.

This is most likely a short-term assignment (through June 2018) so it might make sense for a graduate or undergraduate student to do as a co-op but it could also be a non-student who is interested in getting experience working for the CDC.

I'm attaching the position description with more details.  Are you able to help us get the word out to Miami University students who may be interested?  If we identify an ideal candidate soon, we have some flexibility to adjust the job title and schedule (i.e. full-time vs. part-time) within the confines of our budget limit and time constraints (hours must be billed between now and June 2018).  However, we would need to know this ASAP in order to modify the contract accordingly.

I'm happy to schedule a meeting if you have any questions or need clarification on what we are looking for.

Thanks very much for your assistance!

Game-Day SID, IU Richmond, Fall 2017 Game-Day SID, IU Richmond, Fall 2017

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Wright, Kyle J. <wrightkj@iue.edu>

Subject: IU East - Soccer Game-Day SID opportunity
To: "knhdept@MiamiOH.edu" <knhdept@miamioh.edu>

Greetings,

My name is Kyle Wright, and I am the Sports Information Director at Indiana University East. We are an NAIA athletics program at the IU campus in Richmond.

I am seeking a qualified person to serve as our men's and women's soccer "game-day SID" for this coming fall. This would be a paid opportunity.

I found this e-mail linked to Miami University Sport Leadership and Management program, and I am hoping you might consider passing information about this opportunity along to any soccer-savvy students or very recent graduates who might be in need of a part-time job this fall.

The game-day SID MUST meet these three minimum requirements:

·         Commit to attend all nine IU East home soccer home dates

·         Operate the soccer live statistics software. A person with experience in any kind of live stats program should be able to handle this responsibility.

·         Set up and troubleshoot our soccer live video streaming equipment (the person would receive training in this area)

Those are the bare minimum requirements. The game-day SID also would have the opportunity to write and distribute post-match media releases, and likely will get a chance to take photos, operate a GoPro, and commentate on the live video broadcasts.

If you would have a student or recent graduate who would be interested in the paid opportunity, I would appreciate it if you could provide my contact information to them. If there are others associated with the Sport Leadership and Management program who work with students to find jobs, I would appreciate it if you could prove this information to them as well.

Thank you,

Bradford Woods Recreation Therapy Summer Camp 2017 Bradford Woods Recreation Therapy Summer Camp 2017

I am the Assistant Director of the Recreation Therapy Department at Bradford Woods in Martinsville, Indiana. Bradford Woods is Indiana University's Outdoor Center (housed within the Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies Department) and supported by the Riley Children's Foundation and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

Bradford Woods operates 10 weeks of Recreation Therapy summer camps for people with cancer, sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy, craniofacial anomalies, autism, various physical disabilities, rare genetic disorders, and Down syndrome.

We hire a staff of 80+ individuals and are currently recruiting for the summer of 2017. Bradford Woods has proven to be an excellent opportunity for students in the field of Exercise Science and Kinesiology because of therapeutic mind set and practices in all we do and the exposure to different populations and adaptive recreation. Bradford Woods has also served as a practicum site for many students. We welcome the opportunity to examine this type of partnership with the professors and students within your department.

Because of the strong therapeutic mind set of Bradford Woods, it is my hope to fill most of our summer camp positions with people who see the need and importance of therapeutic activities and adaptive recreation.  This is not only an opportunity for your students to grow individually but it will also help each student develop their own professional philosophy and style as they work with numerous populations of campers in a high energy camp setting.

It is my desire to build a strong relationship with Exercise Science and Kinesiology programs from around the country.
